8 Weeks!

Holy cow am I behind. A lot has been going on the past few weeks, but I start with my weekly update!

How big is baby: (Comparison to last week since I didn't get to update!)

"Baby is growing like mad, putting on about a millimeter every day and continuing to straighten out in the trunk. Though you can't feel it yet, baby is moving those little arms, legs, and (now only slightly) webbed fingers and toes like crazy."

How far along?: 8 weeks today! 4 more in the first trimester!

Weight gain?: Haven't weighed myself but I've put on the pounds.

Maternity clothes?: Not yet.

Movement: No, but apparently Spock is dancing around in there!

Stretch marks?: Not yet.

Sleep?:  I feel like I can't get enough! Two nights in a row I came home from work, took a nap, woke up and went to bed. I'm tired all.the.time!

Symptoms?: .I got sick for the first time yesterday. Sadly it was while I was in the shower but, I got excited afterwards! Lol. Still tired but the girls have stopped hurting for the most part. Bloating comes and goes.

Food cravings: Anything salty.

Belly button in or out?: Innie

What I miss:  Nothing really.. Well maybe except pop.

What I'm looking forward to: My next ultrasound this upcoming Wednesday. I really freaking out.

Milestone: Feeling pregnant!

Bump Pic! (Another comparison to last week. )

First Ultrasound!

I had my first ultrasound yesterday and thankfully it went good!! I measured a few days behind at 5w6d, but the U/S tech said that was fine. And the best part - we had a HEARTBEAT!! 125bpm! I was so excited I cried. I go back in three weeks (roughly 9 weeks along) for a second u/s and hopefully we'll get good news again! So today, I'm officially 6 weeks along with a due date of February 9th, 2012! I won't do another 6 week update since I'm only a few days off, so watch for 7 weeks next week! Here's my little Spock!

6 Weeks!

How big is baby?:
Growing like crazy, baby is starting to sprout eyes, ears, nose, cheeks, and chin. Those little hands and feet -- still webbed like paddles -- might wiggle by week's end, the heart is beating
(almost twice as fast as yours!), and blood is starting to circulate.

How far along?: 6 weeks! Half way through the first trimester!

Weight gain?: +/- 0

Maternity clothes?: Not yet. I did pick up a pair of black maternity pants and they were WONDERFUL! Can't wait! Lol.

Movement: A little early to feel.

Stretch marks?: Not yet.

Sleep?:  Still getting enough but now I'm up almost every two hours to pee.

Symptoms?: Girls are almost consistently sore, peeing a heck of a lot more, bloat is kicking in, still exhausted.

Food cravings: Grilled cheese, perogies, Mrs. Grass soup.

Belly button in or out?: Innie

What I miss:  Not feeling tired all the time.

What I'm looking forward to: My ultrasound on Wednesday! Getting nervous..

Milestone: Getting half way through the first trimester! Come on August! (This is the first time I've wished away my summer)

Bump Pic!

In other news: Two more weeks of school! Can't wait! And next weekend I'll be celebrating my one year anniversary. Holy cow, 1 year already? Where did this year go? We've been through so much in this last year, but things still seem the same. He still gets on my nerves, I still nag him, but we're still as in love as we were 9 years ago. We'll be spending the weekend in Pittsburgh so he can go to the museums and so I can go shopping at IKEA! I can't wait! I love that stupid store. I  could spend my life there! It'll be a dangerous weekend for my husband.. Lol.

5 weeks!

How big is baby?:
Your embryo, which doesn't look like much more than a tadpole right now, is actually starting to form major organs (heart, kidney, liver, stomach) and systems (nervous, circulatory, digestive). Baby's presence in your uterus triggers production of HCG (the hormone detected by pregnancy tests),
which triggers the production of other hormones like estrogen and progesterone, which triggers all those great symptoms you've probably been noticing!

 How far along?: 5 weeks!

Weight gain?: +/- 0

Maternity clothes?: Not yet. Still loving my sports bras.

Movement: Still too early.

Stretch marks?: None.

Sleep?:  I'm getting it, I just don't feel like I get any. I'm so tired.. all.the.time.

Symptoms?:  Boobs hurt on and off; exhaustion; super hungry; lots of peeing.

Food cravings: No cravings, but the thought of eggs makes me sick.

Belly button in or out?: Innie

What I miss:  Not peeing all the time.

What I'm looking forward to: My ultrasound next week! I'll be 6w2d!

Milestone: Reconnecting with my Dr and DH acknowledging Spock.

In other news: My appointment went well today! My Dr is like a whole new person. She was friendly, talked to me, and made me feel like she actually cared about this pregnancy. With the last one she was very abrupt, to the point and had no bedside manner. This time, she actually talked to me about my feelings, told me she was rooting for me and I left feeling like she was on my side. I have my appointment next week to see the heartbeat and get my dating done so I can have an official due date. I didn't bring up that I was charting (because I was kinda doing it half assed) so according to my LP  I'm due the 5th, according to O date, I'm due the 6th. It's such an insignificant difference that I'll just wait until the u/s, then use that date. It's finally starting to feel real!

4 weeks; 5 days

I'm a little behind on when I said I was going to post, but this week kicked my butt! I had today off with intentions of getting things done, but I've probably taken two naps today. *sigh* I guess the exhaustion is the baby. Well, here is my progression post:

How big is baby?:
Now safe in your womb, the ball of cells (blastocyst) is splitting into the embryo (your future child) and placenta. Outside this microscopic speck, the amniotic sac and fluid are forming into protective cushioning.

 How far along?: 4w5d

Weight gain?: +/- 0

Maternity clothes?: Nope, but sports bras are my new friend.

Movement: Wwwwaaayyyy too early!

Stretch marks?: Nope.

Sleep?:  Eh, it's alright. Every time I move significantly, I wake up = me going to the bathroom. But I fall right back asleep.

Symptoms?:  Boobs hurt on and off; slightly nausea that comes and goes and exhaustion.

Food cravings: None so far.

Belly button in or out?: Innie

What I miss: Sleep without interruption.

What I'm looking forward to: My first appointment on Monday at 5w. Hopefully I'll get an u/s set for sometime in the 6th week!

Milestone: Becoming a part of PgAL!

Since I'm so close to being 5 weeks, I'll just wait until Monday to post my first belly pic!

In other news: Keeko's follow up appointment went well! The surgery was successful and she no longer needs to be confined to small areas. She can finally go on nightly walks with us and have free reign of the backyard again. Two weeks of summer school are finally done, and I have four to go! Woo hoo! One week closer to graduation!

Wednesday, June 1, 2011

Well then..

I started summer school this past week, plus started working 30 hours on top of that. ZOMG - Am I tired! Anything before 10am is early for me, and for almost two weeks now being up at 5 every day is killing me. Tomorrow is Keeko's follow up appointment at the vet. I'm so relieved that she'll finally be able to move and get some exercise, but also terrified that something else will be wrong. I just keep telling myself that she's all good and will be great tomorrow. So, another thing to mention is that I'm pregnant! Yes, you heard right.. pregnant! Looks like May was a successful month for Geo and I. As of today I'm 4w2d and have my first appointment on Monday. My EDD is February 6th 2012. Maybe it's a sign that I'll be too busy throughout my first trimester to worry about much. I'm just praying as much as I possibly can that this is my sticky baby and I'll have a wonderful baby in my arms come February. So, for now this blog will mostly turn into a pregnancy blog, with blurbs about other things going on in my life. Tomorrow when I'm not ready to fall over with exhaustion, I'll do a progression check in and post  a nonexistent belly pic!
